On Saturday, June 27th, the West Coast Wrestling Connection comes at you with the "hottest" wrestling event of the year, as the Super Summer
Spectacular 5 emanates from the Regional Sports Center in Springfield! We're pulling out all the stops for this one, as all three championships will be on
the line!
The main event promises to be a scorcher, as WCWC Champion "Gentleman" George Michael defends his title against The Man They Call Exile! The last time these two met, Michael stole the victory from the debuting big man. But since then, the Englishman has become the Champion, while Exile has only gotten stronger, tougher and meaner. The Champ has gotten some help from General Manager JT Allen in recent months, but will even that be enough for George to retain his title against his mammoth opponent?
Ever since winning the Lightning Division Title, G-Shock has vehemently refused to defend it, arguing that until a physical belt is in his possession, he shouldn't have to risk losing it to any challenger. But last month in Springfield, WC Co-Owner Jeff Manning announced that title belt or no title belt, G-Shock would indeed defend the championship at the Super Summer Spectacular. While the talent in the Lightning Division is deep, it's not known yet just who will be gunning for the title. Will it be Mike Santiago, who's still stinging after losing the title to G-Shock? Or could it be newcomer Ian Wyze, who shocked everyone in the WC with his upset victory over the Champ in a non-title contest last month? The answer may not be known until the opening bell rings!
Ironically, one man who will not likely be challenging G-Shock for the title is the #1 Contender himself, newcomer Ryan Taylor. Taylor shocked the WC fans last month when he dropped in unannounced and entered himself in the #1 Contender's match between "Meanstreak" Mike Dempsey and Mike Santiago, then went on to win it! Immediately after winning, the brash Californian made a direct challenge to Mike Modest for the Super Summer Spectacular, to which the fan favorite quickly accepted! Fans should expect to see a great bout between these two!
WCWC Tag Team Champions Bolo & Mike Santiago have been on a tear since winning the titles from GQ Gallo and Mike Modest a couple of months ago, but they're sure to be put to the test on June 27th when they defend the gold against a pair of mystery opponents of their own. Although their opponents haven't been officially announced, the situation puts the Champions in a difficult position because they can't prepare for an opposing team they don't even know yet. Despite this handicap, however, history shows that the young team is able to persevere and come out on top. Will that ring true on this night?
On top of all these exciting championship matches, we've also heard that the Super Summer Spectacular will feature the first-ever Rags to Riches "Beat the Clock" Gauntlet Match! Just what are the stipulations in a match such as this? What is the prize? Who are the competitors? Your guess is as good as ours, and you'll only be able to find out if you come to the Regional Sports Center!
Also scheduled to appear:
Erik Baeden
Dr. Kliever
Domestic Partnership
"Meanstreak" Mike Dempsey
