Erik Baeden d. Brandon Gatson
The best technical wrestler in the WCWC had his work cut out for him when he took on California veteran Brandon Gatson. This match was all about "technique" versus "power," but Gatson was able to throw in a couple of smooth wrestling maneuvers of his own to throw Baeden off-balance. As General Manager JT Allen provided commentary beside the ring, it was clear he was out to help Baeden at any cost. He even went as far as throwing a chain into the ring for Baeden to use, but Gatson and referee Jeff Manning intercepted it and took it out of play. But Allen wasn't done yet. As Gatson had the match won with a devastating superkick, Allen grabbed a cup of water and threw it in Gatson's face, temporarily blinding him. That was all it took for Baeden to roll Gatson up (complete with a handful of trunks) and pick up a tainted victory.
