WCWC Championship Match: "Gentleman" George Michael (Champion) d. Exile
Fans had been looking forward to this contest since before the evening began, and these two did not disappoint. The two put on a brutal contest that no doubt took a lot out of each man, with the same goal in mind. Despite his size, Exile managed to shock everyone in attendance by showcasing his flying abilities, as he dove from the top turnbuckle onto the Champion on the outside of the ring! Despite the best efforts of the hungry challenger, they were not enough to combat the chicanery committed by Michael, who pulled out all the stops and managed to steal the win from Exile (with help from referee JT Allen) to retain the title!
The party for Michael and Allen was short-lived, however. Jeff Manning and Brandon Gatson emerged from the back, looking furious. Manning simply told Gatson to do whatever he felt "necessary" to the General Manager. Gatson responded with a powerful superkick right to Allen's jaw! Manning then made two big announcements: one, after watching footage of the Baeden/Gatson match in the locker room, he decided to reverse the decision and give Gatson the victory; and two, said that while he can't do anything about Allen's GM status, the same could not be said for his compromised position as referee. With that, Manning fired Allen from his referee duties on the spot!
After that incident, Bolo emerged from the locker room, ready to announce just what he would do with his victory in the night's earlier gauntlet match. It was no surprise that Bolo demanded a match against Michael for the WCWC Championship next month in Springfield, but he explained that it wouldn't be just any match ... the title will be defended in a Springfield Strap Match! And just to make sure the devious Englishman would be on his own, Bolo also announced that General Manager JT Allen will be bound to one of the ring posts during that match! After dropping that bombshell, Bolo gave JT Allen a superkick of his own at the insistence of Manning! And to put the icing on the cake, Exile also gave Allen a taste of his own medicine, giving him a top-rope elbow drop!
Despite being shot down time and time again by George Michael, Bolo once again has momentum on his side, making a match on his own terms. Will the Champion be able to beat back Bolo one more time, or will the Silent Assassin finally break through and claim the WCWC Championship? You'll have to be there on Saturday, July 25th to find out!
